SOUNDS & STYLE: From Port Harcourt to the World, Bariidii is set to Redefine the Music Scene

Emerging from the heart of Port Harcourt, Nigerian singer-songwriter Bariidii blends the rich essence of Afrosoul and Alté into a sound that’s deeply emotive and refreshingly unique. Influenced by the soulful depth of Bruno Mars, John Legend, and Michael Bolton, alongside the rhythmic energy of Wizkid and Burna Boy, Bariidii crafts music that resonates with both raw emotion and effortless groove.

His debut single, “Waterside Boy (Love is in the Air),” is a heartfelt tale of love lost and found again. Rooted in his Rivers State heritage, where “Waterside Boy” is a common term for people from the region, the song tells the story of a heart once closed off but unexpectedly reopened by new love. The track’s creation felt like fate—Bariidii discovered the beat on Instagram, already titled Waterside Boy, and instantly knew it was meant for him. With production by Respect Willz, the song embodies a perfect fusion of destiny and artistry.

Bariidii’s musical journey began in the children’s choir at Deeper Life Bible Church, where he nurtured his voice before transitioning to the youth choir and eventually writing his own songs. Now, he is stepping into the spotlight, focusing on releasing singles while laying the foundation for an EP or album in the future.

With his soulful voice and compelling storytelling, Bariidii is set to leave a lasting imprint on the global music scene.
