This project shot by DARE SHALOM (Metallic), styled by OWI VICTOR with muse GODWIN UCHE not only talks about the jungle one is born into but also reflects the ability to adapt and bring out the best of one’s self with little to no resources. The ability to defy all odds and stand at the top, like they were born for it. I call him OBIAGÉRI – because he’s one who has come to enjoy.
The SET DESIGN done by OWI VICTOR was inspired by the various African culture with vintage aesthetic. He called it a garden in an art space.
The OUTFIT was a mix of western and Nigerian roots.JEWELLERIES (pearls and gold) stood to outline how precious one is, highlighting wealth and status.
The CURRENCIES used as a pocket filler was also a nod to success.
For the photography, the lighting technique adopted was to create a mood of solitude portraying the day to day experience in Nigeria, and showing how like a “lily growing amazingly in rocky ground” the model blooms beautifully in the pictures.
